We use succinylcholine to break laryngospasm.  Is there another drug that is not a "triggering agent" that we can use as an alternate?

I would like a list of alternatives

Thank you,
Dianna

You can break larygospasm with any IV induction agent.  Typically at UCSF we use propofol or STP - you need much less than an intubating dose.

Patient with h/o MH or known MHS, how would you break a severe laryngospasm, with developing hypoxia AND you do not have an IV access available...or it is infiltrated/not working. In a recent MH lecture the answer was to do a transtracheal block with lidocaine...I have not found literature describing the case. Could you please give me some references? Thanks.
